2011 Halloween Shops Are Open!
It's not just the costume. You need party supplies, scary decorations and props, fog machines and fake body parts. Whether you're decorating for a Halloween party or making a full haunted house attraction you'll love some of the great stuff available at local Halloween stores.
Is it safe to buy online?
Many, many Americans buy things from online stores like Amazon. At first it may seem scary to give out personal information over the internet. There are some things you can do to make it a little safer. Look for secure web pages. Once you get to a page that asks for credit card information, you should be on a secure page. Most web pages start out with http://. A web page that starts with https:// includes encryption to protect the data being transferred. The company running the website should be reputable. Check with the Better Business Bureau to see if there have been any complaints. You can do that right from your computer too!
Use a credit card. Most credit cards come with protection against fraud. If your card number is stolen, you have recourse through the credit card company. That's much better than giving out access to your checking account! If you're not sure about the protection offered by your credit card company, call them and ask about it.
